HEADLINER:
Jim Holder is an 18-year veteran of stand-up comedy who has headlined comedy clubs from coast-to-coast. Holder started his career at The Comedy Workshop in Houston, Texas, home of the "Texas Outlaw Comics" such as Sam Kinison and Bill Hicks. "Bill Hicks was the first non-famous comic I ever saw live, and it changed the way I thought about comedy forever! The Outlaw Comics didn't look like comedians I saw on television. These guys owned the stage like rock stars! You never knew what was going to happen next," says Holder. From those early influences, Holder developed the passion for stand-up comedy that he carries today. With an attitude aimed at making people laugh uncontrollably, Holder strikes incredibly close to home with his cynical descriptions of everyday subjects. His comedy can sometimes be silly or it can be hard-hitting, often it is spontaneous and interactive, but it’s always funny. The question Holder receives most often after his show is "When are you coming back?"
OPENING ACT:
Mary Becquet is a fiercely opinionated stand-up comedian from Texas who blends brutal honesty with unexpected vulnerability, keeping audiences laughing from start to finish. She originally fled Texas for California—just to be around more people who don’t like her—only to return home, proving that everything is bigger in Texas, including regret.
Fluent in Mandarin Chinese, obsessed with math and cats, and a notoriously terrible driver, Mary brings a unique and offbeat perspective to the stage. Catch her on Hulu’s “Buried in the Backyard”; she’s also the writer and producer of the award-nominated comedy short “Cat Valium.” Mary has also toured as an opener for Dat Phan and Mike Epps and was honored as Jackie and Laurie’s “Comic of the Week.” She is currently performing her one-woman show, “Who Put this Mountain Here? Climbing Life’s Obstacles and Actual Mountains, One Misstep at a Time” in cities across Texas.
